India's ESSAR commits $75 million to cashew-shell processing plant in Côte d'Ivoire

Indian industrial conglomerate ESSAR has announced a $75 million investment to produce cardanol from cashew shells in Côte d'Ivoire, a rare large-scale agro-industrial foreign direct investment in the country's agricultural processing sector. The project would add value to a raw material that Côte d'Ivoire currently exports with limited domestic processing.
