WeLight has announced a $650 million solar mini-grid expansion programme covering Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo, representing one of the largest single clean-energy investment commitments in Africa's off-grid power sector. The programme targets electricity access gaps in two of the continent's most populous and energy-underserved markets.

Going from 190 mini-grids serving 800,000 people to enough sites serving eight million isn't a funding problem — it's a logistics problem.
