South African insurer Guardrisk has publicly distanced itself from a data breach at the Motor Industry Pensions fund that affected approximately 6,000 funeral policy holders. The disavowal adds an insurer-liability dispute layer to the data breach investigation that regulators placed on record on 26 September.
