M-PESA Ethiopia Adds Prepaid Electricity Payments for EEU Smart Meter Users

M-PESA Ethiopia has integrated prepaid electricity payments into its super app for users of Ethiopian Electric Utility smart meters, expanding utility payment functionality on mobile money in one of East Africa's least-penetrated digital finance markets. The addition extends M-PESA's service scope in a market where mobile money is still in earlier stages of adoption.
