June's surge: one month rescued the whole half-year
June's $515 million looks like a comeback. But 91 per cent of it was equity — more equity than the previous five months combined — and a single company, Spiro, the Beninoise electric-motorbike firm, contributed $270 million of that alone.
Strip out one deal and June is an ordinary month. Strip out June and H1 2026 is quietly worse than last year.
For anyone reading the headline as broad momentum returning: it isn't, yet. It's one very large bet on one company, flattering the aggregate. The underlying market is still waiting for its own June.
