Seamless Technologies: the rebrand that was already built
Rebrands often signal a company running from what it built. This one is different.
Seamless Technologies — the Lagos company formerly known as SeamlessHR — is sitting on payroll data for roughly 300,000 employees across 20 countries. That data is exactly what makes lending expensive for traditional banks: they can't verify employment cheaply. Seamless already has it. So when its embedded finance arm, Breeze, underwrites earned wage access or payroll financing, it's not guessing at creditworthiness — it's reading data it generated itself.
The Gates Foundation and Helios backed this logic eighteen months ago. Today's announcement is the public name catching up to the strategy investors already funded.
