Starlink Uganda: the licence matters less than what MTN already proved
Uganda's Starlink launch is a connectivity headline. But the more interesting story happened before today.
MTN Uganda already struck a deal with Starlink to carry enterprise traffic over a hybrid satellite-cellular model — meaning the ground was being prepared commercially before the formal launch even arrived.
That sequencing tells you something real: in Uganda, the satellite layer isn't replacing the telco. It's being woven into it. Whether that partnership model spreads is the thing worth watching, not the launch itself.
