Africa Credit Rating Agency: AU Tempers Expectations as Agency Launches
The African Credit Rating Agency, launched by the African Union from Mauritius, is drawing scrutiny over whether it can build sufficient credibility to influence sovereign and corporate borrowing costs as an alternative to Moody's and S&P. The AU has already cautioned that the agency will not reduce Africa's borrowing costs in the near term.
