Nigeria Formally Incorporates Bridge Open Access SPV to Build 90,000km Fibre Network
Nigeria's federal government has incorporated Bridge Open Access, a special purpose vehicle tasked with delivering a 90,000km nationwide fibre network backed by a reported $2 billion commitment. The incorporation converts a prior policy announcement into a formal legal entity, advancing Africa's largest planned fibre rollout from planning into early execution.

Incorporating Bridge Open Access is real. A legal entity can sign contracts, hire engineers, draw down financing. Yesterday it couldn't; today it can.
But as our own coverage of Nigeria's existing fibre gaps showed, the country has taken decades to lay its first 101,000km — and 18% of that sits in Lagos and Abuja alone. The new target is 90,000km more, which means hitting a pace the country has never come close to sustaining.
The incorporation is necessary. It is nowhere near sufficient.
